Currently, within our nation, we are dealing with Brexit and an unstable government. The economy is shaky, businesses are wondering whether to invest in the booming UK market or start looking for opportunities elsewhere before the bubble pops.

Fear is rampant when it comes to the future, people are uncertain about their financial future and are cautious on whether to buy or sell, move on or stay, build or pull down in this climate. With so much on the line, both on a personal and national level.
How does one deal with the unknown?
There are many ways people could do this, we could approach it analytically by trying to look in the past to see if there are similar patterns and trends in keeping with our current situation, to help us formulate a game plan that might help us to navigate through this situation. Ecclesiastes 1:9 states “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun”. Approaching the future in this way may help us to predict the future with a little less apprehension but still leaves us with some uncertainty about the future.
But I think there is a better approach. Trying to predict the future is a good option for people who don’t know God.
I think seeing things from another perspective or angle is a better approach. What is this other way? The prophetic is the better way because it enables us to see the future from God’s perspective, it enables us to be sure in a world of uncertainty.
The prophetic accurately shows us what will happen in the future. The most important thing about prophecy is that it belongs to God which is in keeping with what Joseph said about interpretation “Do not interpretations belong to God” the same thing can be said about prophecy “does not prophecy belong to God.” The future and what it will look like has God’s authorship i.e. He is the originator and the owner of it.
Anyone that claims to know the future without God revealing it to them is an analyst and not a prophet. The people of God are not called only to investigate by looking in the past and the present but we are called to be prophetic people who can enter the mind of our Father and get to know his plan for our nation, communities and families. It is our Father’s desire that all His people would know his plan in any situation.
So how can we know the future and the plan God has for us? God said “For I know the plans, I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” - Jeremiah 29:11
Let's take a minute to think about this amazing truth “God knows the future” and because this is true it is our responsibility to seek to know the mind of God and have His master plan which He desires to unveil to us so that we can be assured about the future in times of uncertainty. Every situation is an opportunity for our Father to reveal more of His nature and His kingdom to us.
Where there is Brexit, we need to see Exodus and see it as a migration of a people away from evil alliances and unconstitutional agreements which is what the kingdoms of darkness are built upon. The Lord wants us to focus on the establishment of His government and his people expressing his commonwealth.
Where there is division, we must see it as an opportunity for separation of the wheat and tears. Where there is disagreement, we need to see it as a way to refine our positions. Where there is uncertainty about human government and offices, we must see the government upon His shoulder which is stable and unmovable because its origin is eternal.
The need in this hour is for the people of God to put on the mind of Christ, which will enable us to have His perspective for our nation and lives. It takes a renewed mind to see things God’s way so let’s begin by changing our position and move from the place of uncertainty to begin to see Jesus and His Kingship.
