The voice of the fathers

What can we learn from 'Ron Paul' who seeks to restore America back to the liberty defined in it's the constitution.

The race for the nominated republican candidate to challenge for presidency has continued to reflect the subconsciousness of American politics. The American media continue to forcefully push for its predetermined choices amongst the masses, namely those politicians who follow the lead and do not resist the republican party whip.

These nominations declare they are the solution, and back this up with their intellect and professional experience. They present themselves for interview to the American public.

Nonetheless despite the propaganda the candidate Ron Paul has shaken the establishment with his libertarian views and is the only sober voice amidst the charismatic political wave, declaring that the American people must begin to take responsibility for their own welfare by wrestling back powers from both parties to restore personal government. This can only be done by returning to the spirit of the Fathers written within the American constitution.

Unlike the other nominees Ron Paul doesn't present himself, his intellect or experience, but simply points consistently to the strength of the constitution.

Remarkably, like a voice in the wilderness, the veteran and Father of five has drawn the young and the old alike, his sincerity and deeply rooted belief in personal liberty have made willing and loyal converts to his cause. Unlike the manipulated party puppets, people recognise that he has no axe to grind and no desire for power. Rather his desire is centred upon the people being directly empowered by knowing and legislating through the constitution.

Although the Fathers have passed away, the constitution hasn't and like John the Baptist sought to turn the hearts of the children to the Fathers, Ron Paul a modern day John the Baptist seeks to restore America back to the citizenship outlined by the constitution.

The question will be whether or not the nation will accept addressing the root of the problem rather then the leaves.

Not unlike the Israelites, being born in America and having access to its resources does not make you a citizen, a true citizen knows their constitutional rights and is prepared whether in prosperity or poverty, life or death, against all odds for those rights to be upheld. When materialism replaces the constitution then the citizen is no more.

Benjamin Franklyn stated: 'He who would trade liberty for some temporary security, deserves neither liberty nor security'

To Israel Isaiah the prophet declared: ?Listen to Me, you who follow after righteousness, You who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were hewn, And to the hole of the pit from which you were dug. Isaiah 51:1

To America Ron Paul declares 'Looks to the Constitution, the very words upon which the nation was founded.'

How does this relate to the kingdom citizen? This editorial is not written to make converts to the Ron Paul cause but simply to show the parallels, natural and spiritual. Kingdom citizens suffer with the same challenges everyday. We may be swept aside by the prolific messiahs, the many gospels, teachers and doctrines pedalled on materialism and miss the consistent voice of the one true King who IS the rock from which we were hewn.

We too must make our calling and election sure by wrestling back from the carnality of the flesh our responsibility to govern according to the law of the spirit. Liberty and freedom are two very different things. One may be free but without true government find themselves in slavery.

Liberty is freedom exercised through and by government. Any freedoms we seek to exercise without proper government is not freedom at all.

The words of Paul the Apostle stand out at this time: 1 Corinthians 4:15: For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

Be edified, exhorted and comforted.

For King and for country...
